Dissertation defence talk
Details from my presentation
Final effort
On December 20th, 2018, I defended my dissertation at the University of Potsdam. The main question that was to be answered was:
i.e. how do flow paths from hillslopes to streams establish, which spatial structures are crucial and how do these processes interact. Thus, my work (and talk) focused on three different experimental domains:
- hillslopes
- the riparian zone, which describes the region that is hydrologically influenced by the stream – one could also call it the valley bottom
- the hyporheic zone – meaning “below the flow” it describes the stream bed but also part of the riparian zone where stream water and groundwater mix.
